Share your report in different languages

Share, language, URL, online report, PDF, CSV, English, French, German, Spanish

Written by David Whitner

Previously, CoverageBook's default report text like metrics, labels and explainers appeared in English, even if you were sharing reports with someone in another country.

Now, you can choose a language for each report from the settings menu on the main Overview tab.

Currently you can share CoverageBook's online report link and PDF in English, Spanish, French, or German (with more languages to follow!).

Also, if you're sharing your report as a CSV, the default column headers will be translated.

So if you want to share a Spanish report with a client, send a French PDF to stakeholders, or make a German campaign report easier to read, you can set the report language before sharing with them!

This does not change the editing interface, and it does not automatically translate user-editable text or article content.

How to set the language for your reports

Head to the Overview tab of any report and click on the Settings menu.

Next, click on the report language menu and choose an option and hit the save button.

The online share URL of your report will now show your chosen default panguage when its opened! For example here's a preview of a French metrics card.

How to share a PDF in a different language

Just head over to the Share page of any report and you can generate a PDF as normal. It'll translate all the default text into your chosen language.

If you've already generated a PDF of a report and want to share it in another language, make sure to go back into the Share page and generate a new copy so it updates to the latest version

Can I share a report URL in different languages manually?

Yes, if you add the following text (just the part in bold) to the end of our online share URLs it'll translate into that language when its opened.

English - ?locale=en

French - ?locale=fr

German - ?locale=gr

Spanish - ?locale=es

Will you be adding support for more languages?

Yes :) We'll add more languages in the future, but if you'd like to suggest one to us get in touch and we'll see what we can do (we might even ask for your help in getting the translation perfect!)
