An outlet in CoverageBook is any website, print publication, radio or broadcast outlet, social media account, podcast or any other source of coverage.

For online and social coverage we'll automatically create an outlet for you as you import coverage URLs, and we'll save new clips you import to its outlet.

For any other types of coverage our new outlet management features will allow you to create all your favourite publishers so everyone in your team can add coverage to them.

Creating a new blank outlet

We've moved all our outlet features into the new outlets area within the Coverage Vault. Visit your Coverage Vault and click on the Outlets link to view, edit and manage your media outlets and publications.

Our new outlets features allow you to create new blank outlets without needing to import a piece of coverage first, so you can add all your favourite outlets for your teams to save their clips to!

Head to the Coverage Vault in your main menu bar and click on the Outlets link.

Next, click on the Create New Outlet button

Now you can add in a logo if you like, and select which type of outlet you're creating. When you select a category we'll show you the relevant outlet metric fields such as Circulation for print, or Followers for Instagram so you can input the outlet's relevant audiences if you have this data from another source.

Add a name, an optional description and click save to create the outlet. You can now save clips to this outlet as you're importing coverage across your reports.

This is especially helpful for other media content like print pieces, as we'll remember all the outlet details so you only need to add them once.

Can I create a new outlet as I'm importing coverage files to a report?

Yes, if you're working in a report and want to create a new outlet for your clip, click on the +add outlet details area.

It's best to use the search bar before you create a new outlet, in case you already have one saved for the publisher. See below for more details.

Next, click on the 'create a new outlet' link to set one up. Once created, you can assign new clips to this outlet in future and we'll remember all the details for you.

How do I add coverage to an existing media outlet in my account?

If you're importing online and social URLs we'll automatically create or save your coverage to its outlet.

If you're adding some files, its always best to search first as you may already have the relevant publication setup in your account. If so, you can just find the outlet and add your coverage to it.

Click on the +add outlet details area above the clip.

Then, search for the outlet, select it and click save. If you can't find an outlet has already been setup, click on the Create a new outlet link to set one up. Once you've created an outlet profile you can assign new clips to it in the future.

If you can't find an existing outlet to add your coverage to, use the steps above to create a new outlet you can use for future imports.
